All are welcome to attend the Academy's Health Policy Conference. Attendees in the past have included Academy Fellows, nurses, students, researchers, and policy stakeholders. The Academy’s Health Policy Conference will be held in person at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC from October 16 - 18, 2025.
Asynchronous, on-demand content will be available after the event through the end of the year (December 31, 2025). Attendees will have access to the content included in the cost of their registration, and it will be available for purchase after the event concludes for those who did not register.
Yes, there are two preconference events available. The Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science (CANS) Abstract Symposium, themed “Nursing Science: Informing Policy, Advancing Health,” will be held on October 15, 2025, from 8:00AM - 4:40PM at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C. The Institute for Nursing Leadership (INL) Workshop, themed "Aspire. Motivate. Activate. Igniting Your Leadership through Deliberate and Strategic Communication" will be held on October 16, 2025, from 8:00AM - 11:45AM at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C. Click here to register for the INL Workshop.The American Academy of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Contact hours are awarded by the American Academy of Nursing following the completion of the event and the post-conference evaluation.
All cancellations must be requested through conferences@aannet.org and received before 11:59pm ET on August 29, 2025. There is a $250 processing fee for each refund. You may substitute your registration of equal or lesser value to another individual at no additional charge. No refunds will be processed after this date, and no refunds will be given to individuals who do not attend the event.
Networking opportunities are available in the conference lounge, exhibit hall, poster sessions, and throughout the event at the various receptions and breaks.
Recommended dress for the Health Policy Conference, Institute for Nursing Leadership Workshop, and the CANS Abstract Symposium is business casual. A jacket or sweater is recommended, as meeting room temperatures may vary. Dress for the Living Legends Ceremony & Dinner is formal business or cocktail attire. The Induction Ceremony & Soiree is cocktail-to-formal, with black tie optional.
All registrations include a ticket for both of these events; registrants do not need to purchase an additional guest ticket for themselves. Limited guest tickets are available to purchase online for the Living Legends Dinner & Ceremony on a first come first served basis. Limited guest tickets for the Induction Ceremony & Soiree are available to purchase online and will also be available for purchase onsite.
You can purchase from the FAAN Shop in-person on the M2 level of the Marriott Marquis during the Health Policy Conference. Please note: the in-person FAAN Shop will have limited hours and Academy-branded merchandise will be available as supplies last.
