How do I participate in the Health Policy Conference?


The Hybrid Health Policy Conference will be held both virtually and in-person at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC from October 7-9, 2021. After completing the online registration, you will receive a confirmation email with additional information and instructions on how to participate.




Will I be able to access the content from the conference after the event?


Conference content will be available with extended on-demand access through the end of the year. Please note, you must register for the conference to access content after October 7, 2021.




What is included in the registration?


Virtual Registration includes access to virtual: Keynote Presentations, Panel Sessions, Networking Opportunities, Living Legends Ceremony, Induction Ceremony, Exhibit Hall, Posters, Nursing Continuing Professional Development Contact Hours, and Extended On-Demand Content
In-Person Registration includes all virtual benefits & access to live: Keynote Speakers, Interactive Panel Sessions, Institute for Nursing Leadership (INL) Signature Event, Networking Opportunities, Living Legends Dinner & Ceremony, Induction Ceremony & Soiree, Exhibitor Booths, Poster Presentations, and Nursing Continuing Professional Development Contact Hours




How will abstracts be presented and viewed?


The American Academy of Nursing’s platform will feature a virtual poster hall where abstract presenters and attendees can connect through live chat and 1:1 video meetings. Each poster presentation will be pre-recorded and available with on-demand access through the platform. In-person abstract presenters will have the opportunity to answer live Q&A during a designated time.




Will I have the opportunity to participate in the Exhibit Hall?


Yes, the American Academy of Nursing platform will feature a virtual exhibitor hall where vendors and attendees can connect through live chat and 1:1 video meetings, as well as, in-person exhibitor booths for the live event.




How do I receive nursing continuing professional development credits for attending the conference?


The fee for Contact Hours is included in all registration rates. Contact hours are awarded by the American Academy of Nursing following the completion of the virtual event. Continuing education certificates will be sent following the completion of the post-conference evaluation. The American Academy of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.




How can I network with my colleagues during the conference?


In-person networking opportunities are available in the conference lounge and throughout the live event flow. There are virtual networking opportunities available to all registrants through message boards, 1:1 video meetings, and messaging capabilities in the virtual platform. The platform will also feature a Conference Lounge, which is a virtual meeting room for attendees, presenters, exhibitors, and sponsors to network and connect at any time.




What is the dress code for the in-person Health Policy Conference in Washington, DC?


Appropriate dress for the health policy conference is business casual. A jacket or sweater is recommended as meeting room temperatures may vary. Dress for the Living Legends Ceremony & Dinner is formal business attire (suits and ties for men, business-like dress for women). Dress for the Induction Ceremony & Soiree is cocktail-to formal, with black tie optional.




What health guidelines will I need to follow as an attendee of the in-person portion of the Health Policy Conference?


Attendees will follow the current guidelines set by the District of Columbia's Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
