  • How do I participate in the Health Policy Conference?
    The Academy’s Health Policy Conference will be held in person at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC from October 5-7, 2023 and there will not be a virtual registration option this year.
  • Will I be able to access the content from the conference after the event?
    Asynchronous, on-demand content will be available after the event through the end of the year (December 31, 2023). Attendees will have access to the content included in the cost of their registration, and it will be available for purchase after the event concludes for those who did not register.
  • How will I receive Nursing Continuing Professional Development credits?
    The American Academy of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The fee for contact hours is included in the registration rate. Contact hours are awarded by the American Academy of Nursing following the completion of the event and the post-conference evaluation.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    All cancellations must be requested through conferences@aannet.org and received before 11:59pm ET on August 31, 2023. There is a $250 processing fee for each refund. You may substitute your registration to another individual at no additional charge. No refunds will be processed after this date and no refunds will be given for individuals who do not attend the event.
  • How can I network with my colleagues during the conference?
    Networking opportunities are available in the conference lounge, exhibit hall, poster sessions, and throughout the event at the various receptions and breaks.
  • What is the recommended attire for the Health Policy Conference in Washington, DC?
    Appropriate dress for the Health Policy Conference and Institute for Nursing Leadership opening session is business casual. A jacket or sweater is recommended, as meeting room temperatures may vary. Dress for the 50th Anniversary Celebration and the Living Legends Ceremony & Dinner is formal business or cocktail attire. Induction Ceremony & Soiree is cocktail-to formal, with black tie optional.
  • How do I purchase guest tickets for the 50th Anniversary Celebration, Living Legends Dinner & Ceremony and the Induction Ceremony & Soiree?
    Guest tickets are available to purchase for 50th Anniversary Celebration, Living Legends Dinner & Ceremony, and the Induction Ceremony & Soiree.
  • Is the Academy requiring COVID-19 vaccination status or testing?
    The Department of Health and Human Services expired the federal Public Health Emergency for COVID-19, declared under Section 319 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act, on May 11, 2023. With this change, the Academy will not require vaccination status or testing. Safety continues to be a top priority for our attendees and we will continue to monitor local and federal guidance should any changes occur and alert conference attendees.
  • Who can attend the Health Policy Conference?
    All are welcome to attend the Academy's Health Policy Conference. Attendees in the past have included Academy Fellows, nurses interested in health policy, students, researchers, and stakeholders interested in the future of the nursing profession. To request support from your organization to attend this year's event, please utilize this value proposition template letter. Members of the press wishing to attend should review this page and reach out to conferences@aannet.org.
  • Where can I purchase a branded gift or item from the Academy Shoppes?
    You can purchase from shoppes online here or in-person on the M2 level of the Marriott Marquis during the October Health Policy Conference.
