  • All are welcome to attend the Academy's Health Policy Conference. Attendees in the past have included Academy Fellows, nurses, students, researchers, and policy stakeholders. To request support from your organization to attend this year's event, please utilize this value proposition template letter.   • The Academy’s Health Policy Conference will be held in person at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC from October 31 - November 2, 2024. 
  • Asynchronous, on-demand content will be available after the event through the end of the year (December 31, 2024). Attendees will have access to the content included in the cost of their registration, and it will be available for purchase after the event concludes for those who did not register.
  • The American Academy of Nursing is an accredited provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The fee for contact hours is included in the registration rate. Contact hours are awarded by the American Academy of Nursing following the completion of the event and the post-conference evaluation.
  • All cancellations must be requested through and received before 11:59pm ET on September 13, 2024. There is a $250 processing fee for each refund. You may substitute your registration of equal or lesser value to another individual at no additional charge. No refunds will be processed after this date, and no refunds will be given to individuals who do not attend the event.
  • Networking opportunities are available in the conference lounge, exhibit hall, poster sessions, and throughout the event at the various receptions and breaks.
  • Recommended dress for the Health Policy Conference and Institute for Nursing Leadership Opening Session is business casual. A jacket or sweater is recommended, as meeting room temperatures may vary. Dress for the Living Legends Ceremony & Dinner is formal business or cocktail attire. The Induction Ceremony & Soiree is cocktail-to-formal, with black tie optional.
  • All Full and Friday & Saturday Registrations include a ticket for both of these events; registrants do not need to purchase an additional guest ticket for themselves. Guest tickets are available to purchase online for the Living Legends Dinner & Ceremony, and the Induction Ceremony & Soiree, and will also be available for purchase onsite.
  • You can purchase from FAAN Shop or in-person on the M2 level of the Marriott Marquis during the Health Policy Conference. Please note: in-person FAAN Shop will have limited hours and Academy branded-merchandise will be available as supplies last. It is recommended you purchase either online or at the beginning of the event to ensure stock is available.
