Jamie Trotter, MPA, is the Director of Patient Engagement at Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF), where she leads initiatives that center the lived experiences of patients and communities, particularly those facing inequities in health care access. She builds partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including grassroots organizations, cancer centers, health systems, and patient advocacy organizations, to advance health equity and address structural barriers to care. Trotter is committed to empowering patients, families, and communities to become advocates and change agents for themselves and others.

Trotter’s work focuses on advancing patient-centered care and ensuring that patient and community voices meaningfully inform the development and delivery of health care. She brings extensive experience in patient engagement, health equity, shared decision-making, advocacy training, and community partnerships.

Prior to joining PAF, she served as a Program Associate with the Healthcare Delivery and Disparities Research Program at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), where she managed projects examining health disparities shaped by social policies and systems and supported research comparing patient-centered approaches to improve the equity, effectiveness, and efficiency of health care delivery.

She also served as Program Coordinator for the Division of Community Pediatrics at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where she developed and strengthened partnerships with community organizations.
