Young Ji Lee is Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Administration in the Department of Health and Community Systems at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the School of Medicine. She also directs the T32 Training Program in Health Informatics, mentoring pre- and postdoctoral fellows in clinical data science and digital interventions. Dr. Lee specializes in health informatics, focusing on AI-driven systems to improve the structure and delivery of health information tailored to individual needs. She led the NIH-funded HELPeR (Health E-Librarian with Personalized Recommendations) study, which supports ovarian cancer patients in navigating online health information. She has also conducted pilot studies exploring the information needs of diverse populations. Her contributions have earned her leadership roles in the Alliance for Nursing Informatics and the Nursing Informatics Working Group of the American Medical Informatics Association. She received the Virginia K. Saba Nursing Informatics Leadership Award from Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Dr. Lee holds a bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University, a master’s in Nursing Informatics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and a PhD from Columbia University.
