Yamei Bai is Dean of the School of Nursing at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. Dr. Bai has leveraged innovative approaches to the equitable allocation of nursing human resources, developed and clinically implemented management software, thereby enhancing the management efficiency of the national healthcare system. Additionally, she has led initiatives on intelligent screening for elderly with cognitive impairments, provided policy recommendations to the government, and actively advanced chronic disease prevention and control at the national level. To address nursing shortage issues, Dr. Bai devised a novel model for managing nursing human resources. By designing predictive software for nursing workload assessment, she managed to balance nursing resource distribution. This model has been adopted by numerous top-tier tertiary hospitals across China and widely advocated at national academic conferences. Additionally, Dr. Bai built the National Base for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Specialty and Innovation under the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (“SATCM”), training over 2,000 TCM nursing professionals and facilitating the clinical application of TCM nursing techniques in over 1,000 hospitals. Dr. Bai earned her PhD and master’s degree from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and a bachelor’s in nursing from Nanjing Medical University.
