Teresa Shellenbarger is the Executive Director for the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation where she leads nursing education program accreditation initiatives. She is a Distinguished University Professor Emeritus and was founding Director of the PhD in Nursing program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her significant, substantial, and longstanding national and international contributions focus on leading quality workforce development initiatives and developing and supporting clinical nursing education competency development. Through prolific publications, numerous widespread scholarly peer-reviewed and invited presentations focused on innovative topics and best practices, extensive revenue generation, engagement in professional service, policy development and advocacy activities, Dr. Shellenbarger has led accreditation initiatives, faculty development, designed and delivered educational programs producing diverse individuals who are prepared to advance quality and excellence in nursing influencing US and global students, faculty, and graduates and impacting federal funding for nursing education. Dr. Shellenbarger holds a PhD from Widener University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from The Pennsylvania State University.
