Sheila Sullivan is the Director for Research, Evidence-Based Practice, Analytics in the Office of Nursing Services for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). While in this role, Dr. Sullivan led a State-of-the-Art Nursing Conference resulting in a recognized nursing research agenda for VA, and she serves as operational partner for the Nursing Data and Research consortium, a funded team developing nursing data infrastructure in support of future nursing science. Her research interests include Healthy Work Environments and Geriatrics. She serves on the National Advisory Group for the National Institute of Nursing Research, and she is an active member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma, and the American Organization of Nursing Leadership. She is on the Board of Directors for Ghana West Africa Missions, a non-profit dedicated to bringing fresh water to rural Africa, and she has provided nursing care in Haiti and Ghana. Dr. Sullivan obtained her PhD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and her master’s from the University of Virginia.
