Rebecca Singer

DNP, RN

Clinical Associate Professor

University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing

Rebecca Singer is a Clinical Associate Professor of population health at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing. Building on her over two decades of experience in global public health and community partnerships, she teaches community health and global health courses to pre-licensure and graduate students. Since 2020, Rebecca has co-led a community-based outbreak response program that provides testing, vaccination, and infection control services to those most likely to suffer poor outcomes in an outbreak. This team is a crucial part of the City of Chicago’s emergency preparedness and response services. In the spring of 2022, Rebecca was a Fulbright Scholar in Bulgaria. She taught in the Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University of Sofia and provided strategic planning support to Shalom: the Organization of the Jews of Bulgaria. She continues to build on those relationships collaborating with Shalom and The Trust for Social Achievement, a local NGO, on special projects. Rebecca earned her DNP at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing, her Nursing Doctorate at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and her MA in Middle Eastern and North African Studies at the University of Michigan.
