Paula Tucker is a Clinical Associate Professor and Specialty Director of the Emergency Nurse Practitioner Program at Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. She also practices as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner at a Level I trauma center in Atlanta, Georgia. A national leader in health professions education, quality improvement, and workforce development, Dr. Tucker advances evidence-based emergency care and promotes health equity through interprofessional collaboration. She serves as Co-Investigator and Implementation Scientist on a CDC-funded initiative aimed at improving pediatric concussion care, and has trained numerous emergency care providers in quality improvement science. Dr. Tucker also contributes to national policy through her role as a member of the CMS Emergency Medicine Expert Clinician Workgroup and holds leadership positions in several national nurse practitioner organizations such as American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (AAENP) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Tucker is an advanced practice provider in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Grady Emergency Care Center. Dr. Tucker earned her BSN from the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University, her MSN from Emory University, her DNP from Vanderbilt University, and her PhD in Nursing from Emory University.
