Michiko Moriyama

Michiko Moriyama is a Professor at Hiroshima University Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences. Dr. Moriyama was the program director for the CNS course in Chronic Care Nursing. She worked at Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as a nursing specialist, where she contributed to the development of the National Long-term care insurance system. She has established DPP Health Partners Co., Ltd. in 2010 to provide chronic disease management programs across Japan. She has conducted various community-based research studies in Japan and developing countries with her international students. Her program to prevent diabetic nephropathy was adopted as a national policy under the Data Health Plan. She is a board member of many academic organizations and a member of Science Council of Japan, and received national and international awards in her field. Dr. Moriyama earned an MSN from California State University, Fresno and obtained a PhD in Public Health from Yamaguchi University, Japan.
