Megan Streur

PhD, FNP-C

Assistant Professor

University of Washington School of Nursing

Meghan Streur is a clinician-scientist and Assistant Professor of nursing and medicine at the University of Washington (UW). She practices as a nurse practitioner in cardiac electrophysiology and leads transformative research, scholarship, and service initiatives that increase access to high quality cardiovascular care for all people. Dr. Streur leads an NIH-funded program of research that centers the patient’s experience in symptom management and healthcare delivery for atrial fibrillation. Additionally, she is a principal investigator with the UW Community Heart Failure Program, an equity-focused clinical program that reduces barriers to guideline-directed medical therapy for patients with heart failure and adverse social determinants of health, where she co-led development of the conceptual model titled “Trauma-informed Access to Heart Failure Care.” Dr. Streur’s broad impact is demonstrated through leadership with national health associations and co-authorship of scientific statements and clinical practice guidelines that shape national research initiatives, improve healthcare quality, and inform national health policy, most notably the 2023 American Heart Association Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Atrial Fibrillation. Dr. Streur received her BSN from Oral Roberts University, her MN from Washington State University, her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Washington.
