Marilyn Cruickshank is Professor of Nursing Research with the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, a conjoint position with the University of Technology Sydney. Dr. Cruickshank is an internationally recognized leader in infection prevention, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and pediatric nursing research. With a background in pediatric intensive care and over a decade in national Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) policy development, she has authored key frameworks that shaped national standards and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. Her research has led to measurable improvements in clinical practice and informed national benchmarking programs across Australia’s hospitals. Dr. Cruickshank is the Founder and Chair of the Australian Paediatric Nurse Scientists, bringing together national and international pediatric nursing research leaders. She has worked as a technical adviser with WHO for over 10 years and is a member of the development group producing international guidelines. Dr. Cruickshank holds a PhD from the University of Technology Sydney; Bachelor of Arts with Class 1 Honours from the University of New England Australia; Diploma in Emotional & Behavioural Problems of Childhood from the NSW Institute of Psychiatry; Asia Link Leadership Program from the University of Melbourne; Paediatric Intensive Care Nursing from NSW College of Nursing.
