Kevin D. Hook is the Assistant Dean of Clinical Operations and Innovation at the New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Dr. Hook is an executive leader and advanced practice nurse specializing in aging, bioethics, palliative care, and health policy. In addition to his role as Assistant Dean he also directs the Adult Gerontology Primary Care Program and is affiliated with the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing. Dr. Hook’s career spans leadership roles at Samaritan Hospice, University of Pennsylvania Health System, Genesis HealthCare, and formerly Golden Living Longterm Care where he pioneered system-wide innovations in palliative care, care transitions, and nursing practice. His research and teaching focus on aging, ethics, and leadership transformation to improve the care of older adults. He received the Pam Jeffries Nursing Innovation Award and has been active in national organizations and ethics committees. Dr. Hook is recognized for advancing evidence-based care, fostering interprofessional collaboration, and mentoring emerging nurse leaders. Dr. Hook holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from George Washington University, a Master of Science in Bioethics from Union Graduate College/Mt. Sinai, and advanced nursing degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, and Indiana University.
