Kechinyere Iheduru-Anderson

Kechinyere Iheduru-Anderson is a Professor and the Inaugural Director of the RN-to-BSN Nursing Program at Central Michigan University’s College of Health Professions. A national leader in anti-racism and equity in nursing, her scholarship critically examines anti-Black racism, systemic exclusion, and power dynamics in nursing education, leadership, and practice. Her work has shaped institutional dialogues and reform efforts across the U.S. and globally. Her research is cited in a wide range of interdisciplinary journals; including nursing education, practice, administration, leadership, and policy, as well as journals in career development, public health, communications, occupational therapy, human resources, dental and medical education. Her influence extends across academic and professional domains, where her insights inform curriculum, policy, and faculty development initiatives. Dr. Iheduru-Anderson’s impact has been recognized through prestigious honors, including induction into the Sigma Nursing International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame and the creation of the national Dr. Kechinyere Iheduru-Anderson Scholar Award by DNPs of Color. She is an Inaugural Fellow of the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing and a Fellow of the Association of Black Nurse Faculty Leadership and Public Policy Fellowship. She holds an EdD in Higher Education Leadership from Central Michigan University and a DNP in Nursing Education from Regis College.
