Kathleen Wilson is a Clinical Professor at Florida State University, where she teaches in the graduate program and the Lifestyle Medicine program. Dr. Wilson is a dual-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), brings over 40 years of experience as an APRN in practice, education, research, consultation, and administration. She holds board certification in advanced diabetes management, a graduate certificate in obesity management and genetics, and Diplomate status with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) and a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academy of Practice (FNAP). She has been invited to a 2-year (2024 - 2026) appointment to serve on the Florida Center for Nursing's inaugural Wellbeing Advisory Board, a multidisciplinary statewide board that will provide advisement on policy matters that apply to nurses and future nurses in the state of Florida. Passionate about chronic disease management, Dr. Wilson emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention through lifestyle medicine interventions. A lifelong learner, she is dedicated to supporting patients and colleagues to achieve a healthier, more fulfilling life. She holds a BSN from Florida State University, and an MSN, Post-Masters, and PhD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
