Kafuli Agbemenu is an Associate Professor at the University at Buffalo School of Nursing. Her research focuses on reproductive health equity, particularly among African immigrant and refugee women, with an emphasis on family planning, contraceptive decision-making, and maternal health disparities. She has led federally and institutionally funded research studies that developed and tested culturally congruent interventions, including a smartphone-based contraceptive education program for African women with low literacy. Her work bridges nursing science, implementation research, and health equity, producing evidence-based strategies to improve reproductive health decision-making and outcomes in underserved populations. Dr. Agbemenu also serves on the International Steering Committee for the International Conference on Family Planning, contributing to global discourse and collaboration in reproductive health. She received her BSN from SUNY University at Buffalo, her MPH and MSN from the University of Pittsburgh, and her PhD in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh.
