Judith “Judy” Zedreck is currently professor and program coordinator of the Health Systems Executive Leadership DNP Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and nursing coordinator with Pitt Online learning. She also provides consulting services as subject matter expert in healthcare management. She has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry as an Educator, Unit Director, Director, VP, CNO and CEO, prior to being a full-time professor and DNP program coordinator. She has lectured and published nationally/internationally on healthcare management, authentic/transformational leadership, compassion fatigue, resiliency, CNOs role in healthy work environments, impact of a Magnet culture on safety in organizational transition, ineffectiveness of mandatory staffing without nursing judgment, emergence of virtual nursing and its impact on staffing models/ratios, and sustainability of high performance in Magnet organizations. Dr. Zedreck obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursingm, graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master’s in Public Management and earned her DNP in Nursing Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. She also is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business Leadership Program.
