John C. Welch is Associate Clinical Professor and founding Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at The Ohio State University College of Nursing, and Senior Director of Clinical Systems at Partners In Health. A leader at the intersection of education, clinical care, and global health, Dr. Welch has spent over a decade advancing nurse anesthesia and building resilient health systems in crisis-affected settings. He founded and accredited the pediatric nurse anesthesia fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and launched the CRNA program at Ohio State. Globally, he led clinical operations for Partners In Health’s Ebola response in West Africa and later directed the $250 million Massachusetts Community Tracing Collaborative during the COVID-19 pandemic, a nationally recognized initiative that blended public health innovation with equity-driven outreach. His early work included establishing perioperative systems and a nurse anesthesia training program at University Hospital Mirebalais in Haiti for PIH. An author and international speaker on ethical practice, leadership, and health equity, Dr. Welch brings vision and urgency to every endeavor. He holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from The Ohio State University, a Master of Science from Boston College, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio State.
