Jill Marie Terrien is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing. She is the Associate Dean for Interprofessional and Community Partnerships. Dr. Terrien is the project director for 2 HRSA-funded grants. The first as an academic partner for 10 Family Nurse Practitioners funded for a 12-month residency at 5 Community Health Centers across Massachusetts. The second addressing nursing workforce through preceptor education across all levels of nursing (New England Preceptor Academy). She is an Adulty Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and teaches population health courses addressing health equity and social determinants of health. She has been the nursing lead on the Opioid and Safe Prescribing Training Immersion (OSTI) educating more than 2000 graduating nurse practitioners and physicians since 2016. The curriculum incorporates multiple learning touchpoints exposing students to critical content such as expanding access to treatment and reframing opioid addiction as a chronic, treatable disease. OSTI is a nationally recognized model of interprofessional education, fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals to enhance patient care in opioid safe prescribing. Dr. Terrien received her BSN from Rhode Island College and her MS and PhD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
