Jill Peltzer

Jill Peltzer is the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. Dr. Peltzer is an experienced health equity researcher who uses anti-racist participatory research methods to co-create with Black and African American residents research projects that address their priority issues. She is on the KUMC REPAIR Project leadership team; the KUMC REPAIR Project is part of a growing REPAIR Network is addressing anti-Black racism and amplifying Black, Indigenous and People of Color voices in biomedicine and healthcare. Through the REPAIR project, Dr. Peltzer is working with the Kansas Birth Equity Network on a PCORI-funded project to support Black fathers’ mental wellbeing. She is working with Black breast cancer survivors on a team to develop peer-led interventions to support Black women across the breast cancer continuum. Dr. Peltzer serves on the Board of Directors for a local federally qualified health center and a non-profit organization dedicated to equitable systems of health care for Black and Brown families. Dr. Peltzer earned her BSN, MS, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Kansas.
