Jihua Zhu serves as the Director of the Nursing Department at the Children's Hospital affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine and as the Deputy Director of the Pediatric Nursing Committee of the Chinese Nursing Association. She has been engaged in neonatal and pediatric surgical intensive care, teaching, and management for 35 years. She pioneered an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation nursing management model with characteristics specific to pediatric critical care and established one of the first pediatric critical care specialist nurse training bases in China. Additionally, she has been deeply involved in promoting humanistic nursing services for children, introducing and creating the first Childlife program in a public hospital in China, contributing to the development of a more humane medical environment. Professor Zhu has led and participated in numerous provincial and ministerial-level research projects, including over 20 projects at the provincial bureau level. She has published more than 200 nursing research papers and served as the chief editor or associate editor for 7 professional publications. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the Zhejiang University School of Distance Nursing and pursued further study in the critical intensive care unit at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
