Jeannie Corey

Jeannie Corey serves as Professor of Nursing and Coordinator of the Graduate Health Policy Certificate Program at James Madison University School of Nursing. She develops future healthcare leaders through her scalable and sustainable commitment to education and service. She designed leadership curricula at three universities, emphasizing interprofessional practice, health policy advocacy, and nursing’s unique contributions to improving healthcare outcomes. Her mentoring of doctoral student scholarship has resulted in the implementation of best practices, enhancing population and system outcomes globally. As an innovative thought leader in Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) education, she spearheaded national research teams exploring DNP program practices, founded a nationwide think tank, and created a national DNP webinar series. Her education, service, and scholarship efforts have transformed DNP and health profession education. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Doctoral Nursing Practice. Dr. Corey received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Virginia Western Community College, BSN from Radford University, MSN from the University of Virginia, and DNP from Case Western Reserve University Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing.
