Jane Tobias is an Associate Professor at Thomas Jefferson University, College of Nursing. A Golisano Fellow in Developmental Disability Nursing, she is a nationally recognized leader in advancing equitable healthcare for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), with a focus on autism and neurodiversity. Dr. Tobias’ scholarly contributions include impactful publications and national and international presentations. Her co-authored article in NEJM Catalyst on the impact of COVID-19 on individuals with IDD influenced global vaccine prioritization policies. Her funded research, including support from the Rita and Alex Hillman Foundation and the Office of Autism Research, addresses serious illness care and transitional care for neurodiverse populations. An educator and advocate, Dr. Tobias integrates clinical expertise with academic leadership to improve care models and access for adolescents with complex medical needs. She volunteers with Special Olympics Pennsylvania as a Healthy Athletes clinician. Dr. Tobias earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Thomas Jefferson University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Gwynedd Mercy College, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marymount College of Virginia.
