Ho Yu Cheng, is an Associate Professor at The Nethersole School of Nursing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Program Director of the Bachelor of Nursing Programme. She chairs the Education Committee of the Hong Kong College of Nursing Education and Research and serves as Vice President of the Pi Iota at-Large Chapter of Sigma, mentoring future nurse researchers. Dr. Cheng’s pioneering research advances stroke care and caregiver support. She developed the first protocol for caring for family carers™ in stroke rehabilitation, implemented across 19 hospitals and 5 community centers in China, training 400 nurses and supporting 456 caregivers. Supported by grants from the Research Grant Council of Hong Kong, her work informed caregiver policies in Australia (2019) and clinical guidelines in Hong Kong, Korea, and Germany, and the American Heart Association’s Stroke Care Statement (2021). A 2018 ACU Hong Kong Jockey Club Fellowship recipient, she collaborates with global experts, adapting therapies for mental health in stroke populations. Her ongoing work in stroke prevention and health disparities promotes health equity. Dr. Cheng holds a PhD in Nursing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, and a BN (Honors) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
