Fen Yang

Fen Yang is a Professor at Hubei University of Chinese Medicine. Dr. Yang’s research focuses on improving health equity of vulnerable groups care, developed a virtual platform for psychological and professional support, which has served more than 400 wives of gay men and their families. She also participated as a volunteer for suicide rescue social media users, using knowledge-graphing to predict suicide attempts helping to save 4,650 lives. For a cohort of more than 800 Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis patients, she established psychological support and a comprehensive non-drug intervention based on the established Motor Neuron Research Center of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. In nursing education, she have implemented innovative active learning strategies to help cultivate critical thinking for undergraduate nursing students. She incorporated Standardized Students Patient-based simulation teaching in nursing courses to improve students' clinical critical thinking skills. This has been utilized to help teach critical thinking to more than 3,000 undergraduate nursing students. She made significant contributions to promoting the health of vulnerable groups with more than 50 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, including one ESI Highly Cited Paper. Dr. Yang received her BSN from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, MS from Central South University and PhD from Wuhan University.
