Evangeline “Vangie” Dennis is a consultant for Perioperative Consulting, LLC and for other professional organizations, such as the Association of periOperative Nurses (AORN), Laser Institute of America, and American Nurses Association. She is a perioperative nurse leader and educator with 45 years of experience and recognized for expertise in lasers and nursing practice. Her appointments include the Board of Laser Commission, chair for the international certification on lasers, and served national terms as nominating chair, board of directors and treasurer for AORN. She is a committee representative for the American National Standards Institute and locally served for the Georgia Council and NW Chapter of AORN. Her awards include the 1996 American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery Nursing Excellence Award, 2011 R. James Rockwell Jr. Educational Achievement Award, 2011 AORN Award for Outstanding Achievement in Perioperative Clinical Education, the 2018 Distinguished Nurse of the Year for the Georgia March of Dimes, 2019 Manager of the year for OR Manager, and perioperative nurse of the year for the Georgia Council and the AORN Northwest Chapter. She is the Past President for AORN National, a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and a fellow (FAORN) with the Association of periOperative Nurses. Ms. Dennis completed her MSN from Capella University.
