Elsie Jolade is a Doctoral Lecturer and the Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (A-G CNS) programs at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, City University of New York. An expert critical care nurse and family nurse practitioner, Dr. Jolade specializes in cardiology, with a focus on caring for patients undergoing complex cardiac interventions, including open-heart surgery and the implantation of cardiac assist devices. Now dedicated to academic leadership, Dr. Jolade’s primary area of impact is in forging a strong, sustainable bridge to remove barriers to quality nursing education globally. She is especially committed to strengthening nursing education in Nigeria and fostering international collaborations that shape policy, education, and clinical practice to address global health challenges. Her work integrates clinical excellence with educational innovation across borders. Dr. Jolade received her Diploma in Nursing from the Ondo State School of Nursing, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate, and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
