Eleonor Pusey-Reid is an Associate Professor at the MGH Institute of Health Professions School of Nursing and a national and international leader in advancing health equity through nursing education, policy, and clinical practice. She is recognized for her leadership in inclusive scholarship, curriculum transformation, policy advocacy, and international workforce development. Her most influential work focuses on enhancing skin assessment practices for patients with darker skin tones, which has led to her appointment to the Board of Directors for the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel and her role in shaping international guidelines used by more than 275,000 healthcare professionals worldwide. Her landmark studies on the underrepresentation of dark skin tones in nursing textbooks have influenced institutional practices and driven curriculum reforms to foster more inclusive and equity-centered learning environments. Internationally, as a former dean in Costa Rica, she led the development of workforce pipelines that continue to build healthcare capacity across borders. She champions nursing education that reflects and equitably serves diverse communities. Dr. Pusey-Reid earned her BS from Universidad de Montemorelos in Mexico, her MS from Loma Linda University, her M.Ed. from Atlantic Union College, and her DNP from the MGH Institute of Health Professions.
