Devin Carr is the Chief Nursing Officer for the Southern Region of MaineHealth. With over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, academia, and leadership, Dr. Carr has consistently championed excellence in nursing and patient-centered care. His dedication to fundamental care has helped shape global nursing standards through his work with the International Learning Collaborative (ILC) where he serves as a member of the management committee. A passionate advocate for patient dignity and safety, he has played a pivotal role in advancing fundamental care as a core component of healthcare. Through leadership, research, and advocacy, he co-authored three widely cited ILC position papers that provide a comprehensive framework for prioritizing fundamental care worldwide. His contributions have influenced how healthcare systems value and measure essential nursing practices. Beyond his scholarly work, Dr. Carr serves as a mentor through the ILC Leadership and Mentoring Program, guiding nurses leading change initiatives across the globe. His expertise continues to drive improvements in healthcare delivery. Dr. Carr holds a DNP from Concordia University Wisconsin, a MSN from Clarkson College, and a BSN from Middle Tennessee State University.
