Dana Tschannen serves as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and Clinical Professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She focuses her research on enhancing healthcare quality and safety by engaging nurses in quality improvement and evidence-based practices. Dr. Tschannen’s expertise has significantly influenced the adoption of evidence-based strategies within interprofessional teams. She is also recognized for her innovative teaching approaches that improve learning outcomes in nursing education. Her leadership experience spans pre-licensure to graduate-level program development, implementation, and evaluation. A pioneer in using technology for immersive education, Dr. Tschannen has developed simulation-based training programs to contextualize evidence-based knowledge, supporting high team functioning, improved efficiencies in care processes, and overall improved quality of care. Dr. Tschannen earned her PhD, Master's in Nursing Administration, and Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan.
