Curry Bordelon serves as Interim Department Chair for Family, Community, and Health Systems and Associate Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. A nationally recognized leader in nurse practitioner education, he has advanced competency-based learning and simulation strategies across DNP and NNP programs. Dr. Bordelon’s work spans neonatal care innovation, inclusive education, and interprofessional team training, with a strong focus on preparing practice-ready nurse practitioners. He fosters scholarly development in neonatal nursing through education, dissemination and practice. He is a founding member of the American Men’s Health Nursing Alliance and President-Elect of the American Association for Men in Nursing, championing improved health outcomes for men and diversity in nursing. His scholarship explores men’s health, LGBTQ+ competency, and technology integration in nursing education, including AI. Dr. Bordelon has received numerous honors, including the ANEF and FNAP distinctions. He holds a DNP and Post-MSN Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification from UAB, an MSN in Pediatric Acute Care from Emory University, an MBA from the University of New Orleans, and a BSN from Northwestern State University.
