Christine Horvat Davey

PhD, RN

Assistant Professor

Case Western Reserve University Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing

Christine Horvat Davey is an Assistant Professor at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). Dr. Horvat Davey’s research investigates the relationship between lifestyle (i.e., sleep, diet, physical activity) and biological factors and neurocognitive function in aging people with HIV (PWH) and advances behavioral, biological, and social science by implementing and testing exercise interventions for sleep quality, analyzing the underpinnings of inflammation as it relates to physical activity and sleep quality in PWH. Her recent work (K23NR019744) investigates sleep hygiene in aging PWH and characterizes the effects of two exercise interventions, high-intensity interval training and continuous moderate-intensity exercise, on sleep quality in aging PWH, as well as examines the underlying mechanism of inflammation as it relates to sleep in aging PWH. Her impact is far reaching and cited in journals of nursing, sleep, HIV and aging. Her research publications have greatly expanded the understanding and highlighted the significance of sleep, physical activity, and diet in healthy aging in PWH. Dr. Horvat Davey received her BSN and BSPS from the University of Toledo, her PhD from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at CWRU and her Postdoctoral Fellowship from CWRU.
