Balkys Bivins is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Monumental Health Partners. She also serves as adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and the University of Miami School of Nursing. Dr. Bivins leads this growing practice of physicians and APRNs dedicated to caring for young adults with psychiatric illnesses, positively impacting mental health outcomes. Her distinguished clinical career as one of the first APRNs working in the internal medicine department of the Mayo Clinic. While engaged in private practice, she has continued to conduct significant research and led the largest multi-state study on diabetes prevalence among Haitian Americans, in collaboration with leading research institutions and hospitals, including Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She organized a national study involving 4,000 participants on the relationship of stress among college students during COVID-19 and participated in the Haitian American Professionals Coalition (HAPC) Research Task Force, to serve the vulnerable and underserved Haitian American community. She is currently working with Jackson Memorial Hospital to advance diabetes care for nearly 500,000 Haitian Americans in Miami. Dr Bivins founded the Society for Health Awareness and Research Endeavors (SHARE), a non-profit foundation dedicated to advancing research and promoting health equity and social justice. Dr. Bivins holds a PhD from Barry University, a MSN and BSN from the University of Miami and an ASN from Miami Dade College.
