Audra Rankin

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing

Audra Rankin is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She serves as program director for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and Associate Faculty Director-Nursing for the UNC Center for the Business of Health. She maintains certifications as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Mental Health Specialist, Certified Lactation Counselor and Certified Nurse Educator. She has served as faculty at the Harvard Macy Program for Educators in Health Professions at Harvard University, was named an American Association of Colleges of Nursing Faculty Health Policy Fellow and is a 2025 Distinguished Fellow in the National Academies of Practice. She serves as the National Health Policy Chair for the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, a federal liaison for the National Committee on Federal Government Affairs for the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a dissemination and implementation liaison for the United States Preventive Services Task Force. Dr. Rankin holds a doctoral degree in nursing practice from Duke University and a master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University. She holds masters’ degrees in education from Harvard University and business administration from UNC Chapel Hill and completed a post master’s certificate in nursing education from Johns Hopkins University.
