Amy Hite, Director and Professor at Pittsburg State University Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing, has extensive education and clinical practice in rural healthcare. Dr. Hite has successfully secured five federal HRSA Grants; two for rural Nurse Practitioner Residency and three for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Projects. Through strategic partnerships, grant funding, and innovative educational programs, Dr. Hite has dramatically increased the number of certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) in Kansas, removing financial barriers and mentoring clinicians nationwide. Dr. Hite she has trained more than 200 nurses and 300 multidisciplinary professionals, addressing critical gaps in sexual assault patient care. Dr. Hite has advanced statewide policy, including legislation to mandate sexual assault kit processing and expand access to forensic exams in rural areas. She serves on state, national, and international boards, with recent appointments to the Kansas Board of Nursing Board of Directors and the Kansas Human Trafficking Advisory Board. Dr. Hite also maintains part-time clinical practice, as an Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner at a Rural Level III Trauma Center. Dr. Hite holds a DNP from the University of Kansas and a BSN and MSN from Pittsburg State University.
