


Judy Murphy

Nurse Executive and Health IT Leader
Judy Murphy is a pioneer and thought leader in the national and international health informatics community. She served as CNO for IBM Global Healthcare and as Deputy National Coordinator for Programs and Policy at the Office of the National Coordinator at the the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She led efforts to promote healthcare technology adoption and consumers’ understanding and use of technology. Prior to this, she spent 36 years at Aurora Health Care, leading their EHR program. She is well published with hundreds of articles, book chapters, and presentations. Ms. Murphy received an Honorary Doctor of Nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and the American College of Medical Informatics. Her awards include the AMIA 2020 Saba Informatics Award, the HIMSS 2018 Most Influential Women in Health IT, the AMIA 2014 Detmer Award for Health Policy Contributions, the HIMSS 2014 Federal Health IT Leadership Award, and the HIMSS 2006 Nursing Informatics Leadership Award.
