Wesley D. Davis

Wesley Davis is the Chief of Staff and an Emergency Nurse Practitioner at Crook County Medical Services District and the Dual Family/Emergency Nurse Practitioner Program Director and Associate Professor at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Davis serves as the Immediate Past President of the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Associate Editor for the Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal, and the Advanced Practice Representative on the Wyoming State Board of Nursing. With a distinguished career dedicated to advancing the emergency nurse practitioner role, Dr. Davis has made significant contributions on a national scale. He led a team of subject matter experts to revise the professional competencies for emergency nurse practitioners. Additionally, he developed and implemented a system to validate academic emergency nurse practitioner programs, enhancing the quality of education in this specialized field. Dr. Davis also spearheaded and served as the editor for the publication of the profession’s first scope and standards book. He is a member of the Health Policy Committee for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and editorial board member for the Journal for Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Davis holds a DNP and MSN from the University of South Alabama and a BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing.
