Tina S. Gustin is an Associate Professor at Old Dominion University School of Nursing where she teaches in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. She directs the university’s Center for Telehealth Innovation, Education, and Research (C-TIER). The center serves as a national telehealth learning and research center. She is also the clinical manager for the Pediatric Telehealth program at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. Dr. Gustin has been responsible for the development of this new program and assuring clinical competence of the telehealth providers. Dr. Gustin led the development of ODU’s Community Care Clinic housed at the People in Need (PiN) ministry. This clinic is a nurse-led behavioral health integrated clinic that provides holistic care to people living in homelessness. She leads the implementation of telehealth at the clinic allowing clients to see specialty providers in the area. Dr. Gustin’s research has focused on interprofessional team-based care and how telehealth can be used as the instrument for connecting providers to providers and providers to patients. She developed the first tool to measure telehealth etiquette. She is known for her innovative spirit, examples include the development of a robot to engage hospitalized children, and an AI driving kiosk to direct health care for individuals living in homelessness. Dr. Gustin holds a DNP from Old Dominion University, an MSN from the University of Virginia, and BSN from the Virginia Commonwealth University.
