Shelli L. Feder is an Assistant Professor at the Yale School of Nursing, Associate Program Director for the Yale National Clinician Scholars Program, and an investigator at the PRIME Center of Excellence at the West Haven, CT Department of Veterans Affairs. As a nurse scientist, Dr. Feder has spent the past decade conducting national and international studies investigating practices and policies that increase access to palliative care for people with serious illness. She has expertise in data science, applied health services research, mixed methods, and implementation science. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health/National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute the Hartford Centers for Gerontological Nursing Excellence, the Palliative Care Research Cooperative, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. She currently leads a study team, with funding from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, that seeks to identify the causes of wide variation in palliative care uptake and identify best practices in palliative care and end-of-life care delivery among Veterans with heart failure. Dr. Feder holds a PhD from Yale University, an MSN from Yale University, and a BSN from Florida State University.
