Sharon B. Hampton, Chief Nurse Executive, Sponsor for Equity, Inclusion, Diversity & Belonging (EIDB) at Kaiser Permanente (KP), San Leandro Medical Center. Dr. Hampton leads nursing excellence, practice, and operations across Nursing and Ancillary Services. She servers as faculty at Watson Caring Science Institute and uses the philosophy of Caring Science to lead EIDB initiatives and to promote practice and health equity research at the bedside. She is a member of the National Black Nurses Associations (NBNA) Black Maternal Health Committee; co-founder and inaugural Chair of Stanford Health Care’s first Black Employee Resource Group (ERG); co-founder and inaugural chapter president of Stanford Medicine’s Black Nurses Association chapter of the NBNA; first vice-president of the Stanford Silicon Valley Coastal California (SSVCC) Black Nurses Association, and founding board member of the Stanford Medicine Sigma Theta Tau Chapter-Alpha Alpha Lambda. Dr. Hampton's nursing career spans 35 plus years across various patient care service and leadership roles dedicated to nursing excellence at prestigious institutions, including Stanford University Medical Center, UC Davis Medical Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Kaiser Permanente. Dr. Hampton earned a PhD in Nursing Science from Texas Woman's University, MSN from the University of Phoenix, BSN from San Jose State University.
