Shannon L. Gillespie is an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Nursing. Her program of research focuses on maternal-infant health, with special emphasis on clinical and translational psychoneuroimmunology. Through this work, Dr. Gillespie and her team aim to save the lives of mothers and infants by discovering and championing models of maternal-infant healthcare tailored toward the diverse social, psychological, and biological needs of prenatal and postpartum individuals. Dr. Gillespie currently leads two NIH-funded R01s as PI/MPI, including a prospective cohort study testing a novel algorithm for the prediction of risk for spontaneous preterm birth and an RCT of a novel model of integrative postpartum primary care.
