Rosario Caruso

Rosario Caruso is an academician at the University of Milan and holds the pivotal role of Director of the Clinical Research Service of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato (Italy). As the President of the Italian Association of Cancer Nurses (AIIAO), Dr. Caruso leads and sustains several national and international research networks and programs, particularly in the areas of public health, symptom science, and behavioral and organizational research. Dr. Caruso’s innovative research has garnered recognition as he was twice recognized in the World Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University and Scopus Elsevier ICSR Laboratory. His research outputs also facilitated successful collaborations with legislative bodies, policymakers, and interdisciplinary organizations, translating research into impactful best practices and policy actions. Dr. Caruso previously held leadership roles, such as being the Director of the Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Pavia, being a member of the board of directors of the Contract Research Organization Italian Consortium of Biomedical Research, and chairing several network projects for research, education, and advocacy. Dr. Caruso holds a PhD from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, a PgCert from Harvard University, an MSN from the University of Pavia, and a BSN from the University of Catania.
