Renli Deng is the dean of school of nursing Zunyi Medical University and Vice Chairman of Hospice Nursing Professional Committee of Chinese Nursing Association. As a veteran nurse, Dr. Deng’s dominant research areas are Palliative Care and Advance Care Planning (ACP). She established Advance Care Planning system and industry standards to respect patients' autonomy decisions and improving the quality of life for end-of-life patients and the elderly. After studying community and geriatric nursing in Australia, she proposed the innovative concept of "hospital-community-family" chronic disease management and "medical-nursing combination", pushing for the integration of elderly and medical services, led nationwide research, took the lead in promoting the conversion of Zunyi Medical Hospital into a medical and nursing care hospital. She introduced advanced foreign models and took the lead in innovating and establishing the slow disease management model which is suitable for China's national conditions. Participated in the formulation of national group standards for many times, she spread the concept of integrated management of chronic diseases to the whole society. Dr. Deng received a Doctor of Nursing (Gerontology Nursing) School of Nursing from Chinese University of Hong Kong and Master of Nursing (Nursing Education) School of Nursing from the Western China Medical College, Sichuan University.
