Mary Ann Camilleri

Yale University School of Nursing

Mary Ann Camilleri is Director of the DNP Program in Healthcare Leadership, Systems, and Policy at the Yale School of Nursing. A past Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President Administration and General Counsel, she spearheaded large scale initiatives and prototype delivery models for hospital systems. As a healthcare attorney for an international law firm, she represented health care systems, providers and nurses in civil and administrative proceedings. A Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, she serves on the Health Education Network, mentoring future leaders. Her successful consulting company advises community nonprofits to strategically impact social determinants of health. Dr. Camilleri’s expertise in healthcare law and executive leadership, including strategic operations, governance, organizational redesign, quality, patient safety, and innovative health delivery models informs her work with doctoral students in executive systems leadership. She designed a progressive executive curriculum incorporating transdisciplinary competencies with orientation toward the future of healthcare. At Yale she sits on the Academic Leadership Council, is Co-chair of the school-wide Curriculum Committee, and Leadership Succession Chair, Board of Sigma Theta Tau, Delta Mu Chapter. She earned her BSN, Magna Cum Laude, and JD, with Honors, from the University of Connecticut.
