Associate Professor
University of Louisville School of Nursing

As a community-engaged nurse scientist, Luz G. Huntington-Moskos ensures that environmental health science is available and accessible to all. Her research spans adolescent health and environmental health, using technology-enabled approaches to provide data for personal and community action. Dr. Huntington-Moskos works to build the science of report-back, actively sharing research findings with participants to cultivate trust, knowledge, engagement, and behavior change. As a Betty Irene Moore Nurse Leaders and Innovators Fellow, she co-created research with an Adolescent Advisory Board to assess personalized report-back of environmental exposures and the impact on asthma self-efficacy. As part of a national team of nurse scientists, Dr. Huntington-Moskos provides expertise on community engagement, science translation, and report-back strategies for nurse and clinician scientists building their skill in environmental health research methods. Her research is published in peer-reviewed journals such as Preventing Chronic Disease, Journal of Adolescent Health and Public Health Nursing. She received her BSN from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, her MS from the University of Minnesota and her Ph.D. in Nursing from The University of Alabama, Birmingham in 2013.
