Linda C. Hofmann is an Associate Professor and Division Chair at the University of Utah College of Nursing. As an inspirational and transformational leader, educator and public servant, her primary area of impact is strengthening nursing and nursing leadership to ensure high quality clinical care. In her academic role she teaches baccalaureate and doctoral courses focusing on advanced management and advanced finance in complex healthcare systems, quality improvement, and professional roles. Her research is focused to the nursing workforce, evaluating workload, patient acuity, novice to expert ratios, and factors influencing and stabilizing the nursing workforce with experienced and expert nurses. She serves on the Utah State Board of nursing and volunteers her time to draft policy to change legislation to advance and support nursing practice in the state of Utah. Dr. Hofmann previously held executive leadership roles at Intermountain Healthcare as the Assistant Vice President of Nursing, Regional Chief Nursing Officer and Nurse Administrator of Cardiovascular and Heart Transplant Services. Dr. Hofmann holds PhD and BS degrees from the University of Utah College of Nursing, and an MS from Brigham Young University College of Nursing.
