Laurie A Saletnik is Associate Chief Nurse, Perioperative Services for the Johns Hopkins Health System and Editor-in-Chief of the AORN Journal. As ACNO of Perioperative Services for the Johns Hopkins Health System, Dr. Saletnik is co-leading integration and harmonization of evidence based practices across the health system, in addition to providing direct oversight of perioperative services at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She has influenced the implementation of evidence based practices globally through her work with Johns Hopkins International in countries such as Portugal, Chile, India and the UAE. In her role as the Editor-in-Chief of the AORN Journal, Dr. Saletnik provides leadership for this peer reviewed journal as final arbiter of the quality of articles published. Dr. Saletnik created a Peer Reviewer Academy to facilitate nursing participation and contribution to the profession. Dr Saletnik conceptualized and implemented "The Stitch", an e-magazine aimed at new to the profession perioperative nurses, providing targeted education, advice and encouragement to support a successful transition to practice. Dr. Saletnik holds a DNP and MSN from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, a BSN from University of Maryland and a Nursing Diploma from the Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing.
