Laura M. Criddle spent the first 28 years of her career deeply involved in clinical care, including 18 years as an emergency, trauma, critical care, neuro, or flight clinical nurse specialist. During this time, she attained 18 board certifications and published over 100 books, chapters, abstracts, and articles on critical care topics. Other contributions to nursing include serving on two certification boards, editing and reviewing for eight nursing journals, and holding dozens of positions for local, state, and national nursing organizations. Laura has presented hundreds of lectures and courses at conferences all over the US and in several other nations. After completing a PhD in life-threatening illness, Laura pursued her passion for teaching trauma care to nurses by co-founding TCAR Education Programs (TEP), a nurse-directed organization that conducts in-depth, standardized training targeted at inpatient trauma care providers. Since its inception, TEP faculty members have educated over 80,000 nurses and other healthcare professionals around the world, preparing them to care for severely injured patients. Dr. Criddle earned a BS in nursing from the University of State of NY, an MS in emergency, trauma, and critical care from UCSF, and her PhD from Oregon Health & Science University.
