Julie A. Hoff is the past Dean of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She has dedicated her career to revolutionizing nursing education, research, and practice, focusing on elevating the nursing profession, driving health equity, and improving health and well-being. Through strategic leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration, she has made enduring contributions regionally and nationally, advancing the profession through academic programming, scholarship, extramural funding, and workforce policy. Before assuming dean roles, Dr. Hoff spent two decades at the University of Illinois at Chicago in clinical, research, and administrative positions. Her work on cardiovascular health promotion and disease prevention continues to impact current cardiovascular disease risk stratification and clinical management. With almost two decades of multi-state academic leadership, Dr. Hoff has a broad perspective on the opportunities and challenges in academic nursing and practice. She has led transformative changes, increased enrollment, secured resources, and introduced innovative programs through internal and external collaborations. Her commitment to education, scholarship, practice, and public policy has strengthened academic-practice partnerships, expanded access to nursing education, and enhanced the nursing workforce in urban and rural communities. Her initiatives include a paid senior nurse intern program, increased access to nursing education, and cost-free academic advancement pathways for nurses.
