Juan Li

Juan Li is a deputy director of Nursing Department and associate professor at Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, academic secretary of National Medical Center of Neurological Disorders in China, and Executive committee member of Asian Congress of Neurosurgical Nurses. Dr. Li’s research addresses improving health and health equity of stroke survivors. Findings from her recent NSFC-funded and CMB-funded research demonstrate dynamic networks of functional impairment of stroke survivors, reveal mechanism of cognitive reserve on cognition among stroke survivors, establish a health management model based on Mobile-health, develop person-centered rehabilitation interventions based on Virtual Reality to improve cognition, physical function, emotion, quality of life for stroke survivors by leading an international and multidisciplinary research team of neurology, rehabilitation, psychology, nursing and sociology, and advocate for nursing’s voice in eliminating health disparities in stroke recovery. The impact of her research is far-reaching and cited in journals of nursing, neurology and rehabilitation. Publications from her research also significantly broadened the knowledge base and importance of mobile-health supported rehabilitation interventions that enhance stroke survivors’ health. Dr. Li received her BSN, MS from Second Military Medical University, her PhD from Naval Medical University, and her Postdoctoral Fellowship of Clinical Medicine in Neurology from Naval Medical University.
