Jojo Yan Yan Kwok is an Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong School of Nursing, an Associate Director at the University of Hong Kong Center on Behavioral Health, and a research fellow at the Harvard Medical School Osher Center for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Kwok’s primary areas of impact are compassion-focused care for Parkinson’s disease. Through her pioneering research, Dr. Kwok has influenced neurology care pathways and the advancement of nurse-practitioner care models in Hong Kong and East Asia. She has received over $2 million in external competitive grants to lead international, multidisciplinary teams in developing and evaluating evidence-based interventions for long-term care. Dr. Kwok’s research findings, published in top-tier journals such as JAMA Neurology, have had far-reaching impacts. She has shaped the development, implementation and evaluation of community-based neurology care programs with flagship non-governmental organizations and remodeled professional training for neurology care. Additionally, her leadership has led to the integration of compassion and resilience training in nursing education. These efforts have positively impacted the quality of care and improved the resilience and well-being of nursing workforce locally and globally. Dr. Kwok received her BNurs, MPH and PhD degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
